World War I

As I read All Quiet On the Western Front, I began to realize why it is called "the greatest war novel of all time." Not only does it really capture the image of the lesser known war from a German perspective, it brings all the emotions of the horrors of war, loss of innocence, and sense of betrayal to the surface. This book isn't too graphic with all just war scenes, it is not an adventure story of a war adventurer, but rather a retelling of the truths of World War I and its consequences. Even if one doesn't like war novels or historical accounts, this book should be read by anybody who remotely likes to read.
